Born and raised in Queens, New York, I grew up with much love in my life.  Both of my parents made education and striving after goals a priority during my upbringing.  This goal-oriented attitude, along with the fact that I am an only child, has made me a very independent person.

My drive carried me on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Biology (pre-med) from Quinnipiac University, and I am still in the academic world through the pursuit of my graduate education.  In addition, I currently work at a pharmaceutical company as a Scientist in the Research and Development department.  I conduct analytical testing on newly developed drugs that will later receive review by the Food and Drug Administration.

Although I danced Salsa at many family gatherings while growing up, I did not get into “On 2” dancing until my good friend Saul introduced me to it.  He knew that I liked to dance (I have experience in Jazz and Ballroom Tango as well), and suggested that I take classes at Piel Canela. After a short time in class with Joe, and nearly two years later, Salsa has taken over my life!

Salsa music gets every part of my body moving, making it my favorite aspect of the dance.  Along with the music, watching other people dance and perform well hypnotizes me.  I love seeing people let loose, lose their inhibitions, and have a blast dancing to this amazing music.  Aside from my enjoyment and appreciation for the fun of Salsa dancing and its music, I bring commitment and dedication to the table as a dancer.  I am, without a doubt, a perfectionist, and someone who always strives towards becoming a better dancer.  I truly believe that a dancer always has something to learn, and, as such, I remain a humble and helpful dancer for my teammates.  I enjoy working together with my teammates because I feel that we can all learn from each others’ challenges.

I hope to continue taking my dancing to higher and higher levels while still pursing the peak of my career in Health and Sciences.  Although every dancer reaches plateaus along the road of this pursuit, strong passion can always help with overcoming that plateau.  I aim to keep this passion alive as I continue to learn new choreographies and continue dancing at different venues and events.  The 2008 season brings much excitement and thrills with a culmination at the second annual Que Rico Mambo Showcase!
