Hi, my name is Lilybelle. Anyone who knows me can tell you I am always the first one to start dancing at a party, and the last one to leave the dance floor! Salsa has always been a passion for me. My family is from Puerto Rico, and we have maintained a household full of enthusiasm for Latin music and its dances.
Growing up, I had the opportunity to perform Bomba and Plena at different functions. And then I discovered On 2 Salsa dancing through a close friend and company member at Piel Canela. Despite not having enough time in my schedule to regularly take classes at Piel Canela for nearly two years, I still enjoyed attending the PCD socials, Jimmy Anton’s social, and Club Cache. Through this involvement with Salsa, I had a great time and met a great group of people who share my passion.
After finally graduating college, my schedule allowed me to begin taking classes with Joe Burgos at Piel Canela. Six months later I joined the Summer 2007 Recital Team, which ended with a performance at the 2007 Salsa Olympics. It felt so awesome to dance on stage that I decided to join the Piel Canela Dance Company. I am proud to say that I am now part of the Student Team. I am looking forward to growing as a dancer through the upcoming 2008 performance season.
