Salsa dancing has been the one constant in my adult life.  Although I received a musical education at home from my Dad, it was in my journeys overseas that I was introduced to salsa dancing - the energy and the way the dancers would give everything they have in the moment.  I was instantly hooked.

Upon arriving in NY in 2000, classes with Maria & Eddie Torres gave me a solid foundation of NY On-2 dancing.  Soon the Copacabana (57th St.) became my second home.  When work brought me overseas again, salsa dancing was my way to let loose, express myself and connect with people no matter where I happened to be.

In March 2008, I returned to NY, hungry for some NY salsa.  I came to Piel Canela studios to brush up on my moves and, unknowingly, had walked into a serious dance school with a director who is determined to make you the best dancer you can be.  The students I met there were friendly as well as committed.  With their encouragement, I joined the recital team and now, as part of the company, I hope to live up to Piel Canela’s high standards.
