After living in the Dominican Republic from the time I was born, I moved to the United States at the age of eight. My schooling here in the States culminated in December of 2005, when I graduated from SUNY New Paltz. I now work for T-Systems North America, a telecommunication company, as a Project Leader.
While at New Paltz, several friends of mine inspired me to dance Salsa. A good friend and sorority sister told me about classes at Piel Canela, where I have now taken class since the fall of 2006. Prior to starting Salsa, I danced Merengue and Bachata, and have also taken several classes in Cha-cha, Rumba, and Jive; dances I continue to enjoy while dancing Salsa. In addition to my involvement in Salsa, I currently spend time learning Tango and Samba.
After getting a taste of the performance scene through the October 2007 Recital Team performance with Piel Canela, I now bring my commitment and fun personality to the Student Team at Piel Canela. Ultimately I aim to improve my dancing enough to earn a spot on Piel Canela’s Professtional Team. In the meantime, I look forward to tackling the challenges that performing brings, and I look forward to performing my first season with Piel Canela in 2008.
